Course objectives
The subject together with the subject Resuscitation and Intensive Medicine II is conceived as a theoretical whole. Students will obtain the information and theoretical knowledge needed to provide nursing care to patients with reversible failure of essential life functions. They will theoretically be equipped to perform monitoring, special diagnostic methods, and adequate care for patients with temporary replacement of essential vital functions or patients at risk of failure.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to: - to explore methods of monitoring, neuromonitoring and basic diagnostic methods in intensive care - discribe goals to support organ functions in intensive care patients - have basic knowledge of hemodynamics, artificial pulmonary ventilation, sedation of patients in intensive care - provide patient intake and transport, oxygen therapy, prevention of intensive care infections -to recognize the patient in shock, delirium / agitation, sepsis, and be able to determine the management goals of such patients - be able to interpret the basic disorder of acid-base equilibrium and electrolyte abnormalities
