Cíle předmětu
This course is a continuation of VMKA from the previous semester which was devoted to an overview of cultural differences, their manifestations and consequences. In this, the second half of the course, the focus is on concrete aspects of culture, specific cultural comparisons and case studies. Each student will produce an hour-long presentation of the research he\she has been preparing since the beginning of the Autumn semester. The methodology of interactive presentation will be dealt with in the final class of the Autumn semester and in private consultations 2 weeks before each presentation. (A feed-back session will also follow each presentation.)
The aim of this course is: for (future and current) teachers of English to demonstrate their awareness of cultural differences and integrate culture into effective language teaching; and for each student to design and develop an hour's interactive class presentation on a cultural theme of their choice.
