Cíle předmětu
The course offers a survey of various aspects of medieval manuscript culture in various literary contexts. It offers an insight into the theory and practice of manuscript studies and shows the students how to understand medieval manuscript literary culture in its widest complexity. It focuses on the book production, transmission of selected texts and several specifics of medieval Latin literature of Bohemian provenance.
Výstupy z učení
At the end of the course, students will be able to:
- understand the basics of the history of medieval Latin manuscripts;
- outline various approaches to issues connected to the history of selected Latin treatises;
- describe transmission of selected medieval Latin literary texts, with a special focus on medieval Bohemia.

Výukové metody
Lecture, class discussion, presentation of a selected topic.
Metody hodnocení
Regular and active attendance; fulfillment of short continuous assignements. Written test at the end of the course combining open and multiple choice questions; minimum passing score is 65%.
