Předpoklady
Students should be aware of art historical topics and methods applied in the discipline. Students do not need advanced technical knowledge of IT systems.

Cíle předmětu
The course focuses on new methods, technologies and tools of research in the humanities and particularly in art history. It critically introduces concepts and methods from digital humanities, including AI, multimedia resource platforms, and digitisation, and explores how they are used in different aspects of art historical work.
The individual sessions draw on the expertise of invited speakers who will offer a range of topics that e.g. critically analyse the application of digital technologies in art history, their significance and implications.
The course will also provide an introduction to AI as a tool of image analysis and offer examples of art (history) projects using digital tools and best practice. 
The course outcome will be for students to redesign a current course to include digital tools.
Výstupy z učení
By the end of the course, students will have critical knowledge of digital tools and their application in art history.
Students will
- be aware of the possibilities, limits, and risks of digital technologies and their impact on the arts, their archiving, study and interpretation;
- be familiar with issues of ethics, inclusivity, and accessibility in digital humanities;
- acquire new skills in applying digital tools in art history research, such as data and text mining, visualisation techniques and tools, digital mapping techniques and machine learning.
