- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students get familiar with basic palaeoecological methods and are able to describe a discuss the results.
- Syllabus
- 1) Introduction, history of methods;
2) geomorfological record ;
3) lithological record (sands, fluvial terraces, loess, deluvial and (peri)glacial sediments);
4) lithological record (organic sediments, carbonate deposits);
5) biological record – pollen analysis;
6) macrofossil and testate amoebae analyses;
7) vertebratological analysis;
8) malacological analysis;
9) other analyses (chironomids, diatoms);
10) dating methods;
11) data processing (diagrams), multi-proxy studies, stratigrafy;
12) interpretation of results, models.
