Leipzig | Joint Research Meeting of the Central German Cancer Center with High Participation The Central German Cancer Center (CCCG) hosted the CCCG Research Retreat. The 1.5-day event, held on August 14 and 15, 2025, at the Moritzbastei in Leipzig, successfully brought together cancer research and medicine from the Leipzig and Jena locations. The program of the CCCG Research Retreat 2025 spanned a range of topics from fundamental cancer biology to current innovations in drug and therapy development. Participants took advantage of the opportunity for lively discussions, scientific exchange, and networking – always with the goal of advancing cancer research and enabling better care for patients. The evening get-together on the first day proved to be a particularly ideal opportunity to network, develop ideas, and gain new insights in a relaxed atmosphere. The retreat offered a total of six scientific sessions with 34 presentations and a poster session with 13 contributions, providing the nearly 100 participants with insights into current cancer research projects in Leipzig and Jena. The highlight was the presentation of the Early Career Awards by Prof. Langenhan. The award for best presentation went to Robin Kohler (Department of Gynecology, Division of Molecular Oncology, UML, Leipzig). The award for best poster presentation was given to Celina Junker (Leibniz Institute for Aging Research – Fritz Lipmann Institute, Jena).
