Cieľom tejto práce je preskúmať motiváciu študentov českých stredných škôl učiť sa a osvojovať si angličtinu, či v škole alebo mimo školy. Teoretická časť uvádza a spája koncepty motivácie a mimoškolskej angličtiny. V praktickej časti sú pomocou výskumu kvantitatívneho dizajnu zodpovedané tri otázky výskumu. This thesis aims to explore the motivation of Czech upper-secondary school students to learn and acquire English, both in class and extramurally. The concepts of motivation and extramural English are introduced and connected in the theoretical part. This thesis aims to explore the motivation of Czech upper-secondary school students to learn and acquire English, both in class and extramurally. The concepts of motivation and extramural English are introduced and connected in the theoretical part. The practical part answers three research questions through a survey design of quantitative research. It addresses the levels of motivation to learn English, the difference between motivation to learn in the classroom and extramurally, and the differences in motivation of students based on the type of school they attend.
