The aim of the thesis is to design and develop a mocking framework written in InterSystems Caché in Caché ObjectScript programming language. The framework will be primarily used in the CSystem company.

The framework will allow creating mock objects and specifying their methods (names, parameters, return values). The framework will provide an option to generate a REST interface for the mocked objects to access the responses from outside of the Caché via requests. With this functionality, framework users will be able to mock the REST interface of the whole system as well.

In order to increase the portability, the REST API of the mocked objects will be closed in a container with the Docker technology. The distribution should be also safer since users of the mocked objects will only need to obtain the corresponding image of the container and to install the Docker.

The primary purpose of the framework is to assist in the inter-system integration by providing third-party companies with the functionality of the mocked objects. The second purpose is to mock the server-side for client-server applications. Another usage of the framework is to support unit testing -- mock objects and functions can lower dependencies on the testing subjects.

The student examines the existing mocking frameworks. When no acceptable exists, he or she proposes his or her own solution. In the thesis text, the student has to describe all the research, the main decisions during the design and the implementation. The student also has to demonstrate the usage of the framework on small examples.
