Bakalářská práce
Common Provenance Model provenance generation tool based on WfRun RO-Crate
Anotace
V digitálnej oblasti proveniencia opisuje životný cyklus dát, vrátane ich pôvodu, zmien a súvisiacich entít. Táto bakalárska práca si kladie za cieľ navrhnúť a implementovať pilotný nástroj na generovanie proveniencie v súlade s Common Provenance Model, s využitím štruktúrovaných metadát z Workflow Run RO-Crates. Tieto crates popisujú vykonania výpočtových workflowov, vrátane vstupov, výstupov a charakteristík …více
Abstract
In the digital domain, provenance describes the lifecycle of data, including its origins, modifications, and related entities. This thesis aims to design and implement a pilot tool for generating provenance in accordance with the Common Provenance Model, using structured metadata from Workflow Run RO-Crates. These crates describe computational workflow executions, including inputs, outputs, and runtime …více
Zadání práce
RO-Crate is a community effort to establish a lightweight approach to packaging research data with their metadata. RO-Crate is technically realized as a directory that contains the data and a special ro-crate-metadata.json file that describes the data. Provenance is information about the history of a described object (e.g., a dataset) in terms of entities, activities, and agents involved in the creation of the object and can be used to evaluate the object's quality, reliability, or trustworthiness. WfRun RO-Crate is an extension of RO-Crate to capture the provenance of the execution of computational workflows at different levels of granularity and bundle together all their associated products (inputs, outputs, code, etc.). This thesis aims to design and implement a tool for generating provenance according to the Common Provenance Model based on WfRun RO-Crate. The specific goals of the student will be to:
1. Get familiar with RO-Crate and WfRun RO-Crate specifications and the CPM.
2. Get familiar with libraries for working with related provenance models.
3. Design a tool that processes WfRun RO-Crate and generates provenance information according to the CPM.
4. Implement the tool.
The student will be provided with exemplary WfRun RO-Crates to pilot the implementation. The implementation shall be generic enough to work with any WfRun RO-Crate. As the thesis has the potential to have an international impact, the textual part of the thesis will be written in English. The textual part will contain a brief description of RO-Crate, WfRun RO-Crate and CPM specifications, a description of the implementation design and the actual implementation. The results will also contain a demonstration of the tools usage. If the implementation was not possible to create, the textual part shall explain why the implementation can not be realized and suggest adjustments to the existing specifications to enable the implementation.
