Úloha TUSC3 v imunitním dohledu a karcinogenezi - potenciální význam pro imunoterapii

Role of TUSC3 in immune surveillance and carcinogenesis - potential significance in immunotherapy

Anotace

Abstract

Ovarian cancer (OC) is a serious gynecological malignancy. Standard treatment is associated with significant systemic toxicity, which is why immunotherapy has become increasingly discussed as a suitable therapeutic option for OC. However, clinical trials have not produced encouraging results. One of the important factors is the highly immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment, shaped by both internal …více

Zadání práce
The thesis will focus on the role of the TUSC3 protein in immune surveillance and its significance in the development and progression of ovarian cancer (OC). TUSC3 is involved in the N-glycosylation process, which is essential for the proper function and stability of proteins. Current research suggests that TUSC3 acts as a tumor suppressor in various cancers, including OC, and its reduced expression is associated with a worse prognosis for the disease. Additionally, TUSC3 may influence immune surveillance by regulating the expression of key immune-related proteins, such as PD-L1, and by interacting with immune cells, potentially enhancing the response to immunotherapy. TUSC3 also plays a role in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress response, a process involved in the cancer tumor-immune microenvironment. The thesis aims to further characterize the impact of TUSC3 on immune response and ER stress regulation in cancer cells. These findings could lead to its use as a potential biomarker or therapeutic target in cancer treatment.
