Microshift: A Tool for Automated Microservices Migration
Anotace
Abstract
Historically, many software systems have been developed as monolithic applications, which can pose significant challenges in terms of scalability and maintainability. As organisations seek to transition to different kinds of architectures to address these issues, there is a need for effective tools to facilitate migrations. Although existing studies have explored various aspects of microservice migration …více
Zadání práce
As such, the main goal of the thesis is to create a prototype application based on a processing pipeline that generates a proposed set of microservices based on a given monolith system, helping developers analyse their projects. To reach the main goal, it will be first necessary to study and review the proposed approaches in the literature and propose an approach to be integrated into a processing pipeline.
- Review existing approaches to the migration from monolithic systems to microservices: automated and manual;
- Create a prototype pipeline for automated migration that would identify microservices. Static and dynamic code analysis will be used to define a candidate set of microservices.
- Validate the proposed approach for microservices migration on a sample project;
- Compare the resulting migration to microservices to the results proposed by other research tools;
