Role-Specific Educational Approaches to Cryptography in a Corporate Environment

Hanna Kudlanova
Anotace

Abstract

This thesis aims to design and implement cryptography education materials tailored to different employee roles within a technology-oriented company. This topic was chosen due to the lack of such materials for non-technical employees. Based on internal company documentation and employee consultations, four distinct employee groups were identified: HR (Human Resources), Customer, Technical, and Expert …více

Zadání práce
The objective of this thesis is to design and implement educational materials on cryptography, tailored for various standardized roles within the company.
The thesis aims not to provide a comprehensive overview of all cryptographic technologies, but to focus on the concepts that are relevant for daily work and currently used within Monet+.  The thesis aims to:
  • Identify and describe individual groups of employees (roles) who encounter cryptography-related issues, and to create a detailed characterization of readers as typified roles, including their expected competencies and knowledge, as well as their motivation - why, to what extent, and for what purpose they need to understand cryptography in the context of their professional duties.
  • Determine the appropriate form and level of presentation of educational materials so that it corresponds to how each role best receives information. This includes the definition of the main structure and form of topic presentation - for example, presentations in the corporate template, supplementary texts (also in the corporate template) with illustrations, diagrams, etc.
  • Ensure that each topic is prepared specifically “in the language” and with the level of detail understandable for the given role.
  • Implement a structured space within the corporate Confluence platform, which will serve as a central repository for educational materials.
  • Demonstrate how complex technical topics - such as cryptography - can be adapted to different target groups in a way that makes them both comprehensible and practically applicable in a workplace context.
The outputs of the thesis will include:
  • Analytical part – describing individual typified roles and their educational needs in the field of cryptography.
  • Design part – defining the structure, format, and methodology for developing educational materials for individual roles.
  • Practical part – the implemented educational space within the Confluence system, including prepared educational materials.
  • The thesis text itself, summarizing theoretical foundations and methodological approach.
The thesis will also include the reuse of texts and images from the corporate Confluence and other previously developed materials. Sections specific to internal structures or company trade secrets will be removed, and selected examples will be anonymized.

The following methods and resources will be used in the writing of the thesis:
  • Consultations with HR employees – to gather information about job roles, their competencies, and educational needs.
  • Consultations with employees from various departments – to determine the appropriate form and level of topic presentation.
  • Internal corporate resources – especially Confluence, Google Drive, and the internal document repository containing existing educational and technical materials.
  • Role descriptions from internal company documentation – serving as the main basis for identifying typified reader groups and their job responsibilities.
These resources will make it possible to define relevant thematic areas, identify target reader groups, and adapt the educational materials to ensure that they are relevant, comprehensible, and practically applicable for different employee roles.
