Zadání práce
The goal of the thesis is to design and develop a portal for easy yet secure distribution of applications for cryptographic smartcards with the JavaCard platform.
The theoretical part of the work will survey available options for secure distribution of software (Google Play, Apple AppStore, Maven artifacts, GitHub distribution model...). The goals of the deterministic build of application including available options applicable to JavaCard applets will be examined. The suitable concepts will be used to design the architecture for the domain of open-source JavaCard applications.
The practical part of the work will implement the portal and necessary local tools for the installation of applets to a target smartcard. The portal will be a searchable storage of properly compiled and signed packages with the support for compilation from the existing third-party source code and utilizing deterministic build principles to produce trustworthy and signed application build. The local client will verify the integrity of a user-selected application, check the target card for the presence of an older version and upload or update the application. The work will be demonstrated on at least 5 existing applets selected after the discussion with the supervisor and three different smartcards.
