RoFI is a platform of distributed metamorphic robots. The RoFI modules serve as the basic building blocks of higher and more complex robots. In order for them to perform a given task, appropriate software must be loaded into them. However, this can be laborious with large numbers of robots.

The goal of this work is to design and implement an automated procedure that allows for the bulk uploading of programs to linked RoFI modules. Program uploading should be based on sharing firmware between modules through available communication interfaces. The proposed procedure should exploit the distributed nature of the modules to improve scalability and fault tolerance. The proposed solution should also allow for uploading multiple types of firmware to the modules.
