The influence of American English is enormous. Hence, it is suggested that it has an impact on British English on the level of syntax, morphology and even pronunciation. This Bachelor’s thesis focuses on the modern form of non-regional British pronunciation and examines the current tendencies in it. Zadání práce
The thesis will compare two different accents, particularly Standard Southern British Pronunciation and General American Pronunciation. The information will be given about the main differences and current tendencies. Special emphasis will be laid on the influence which the American accent has on the British accent. In the analytical part, speech of different SSB speakers will be compared and analysed.
