In my bachelor thesis I focus on the (de)politicization of irregular mi-gration with regard to the negotiation of the Migration Pact, in the pe-riod from June to December 2023. I compare how and to what extent irregular migration and the Migration Pact were politicized and/or de-politicized by the governments of Czechia and Slovakia. To do so, I the-oretically draw on the concept of politicization, and on the context of politicization of immigration and methodologically apply the method of an in-depth content analysis. I work with a dataset obtained from press releases, press conferences, news articles, and social media, I analyse the (de)politicization strategies employed by the Czech and Slovak Prime Ministers and Ministers of Interior.
