Course objectives
The course is a follow-up course to Management I. It should lead to the development of system thinking, creating the conditions for perception of broader contexts, deeper understanding of feedback processes, relationships between parts and the whole, statics and dynamics, etc. It should also lead to the acquisition of both theoretical and factual knowledge

At the end of this course, students should be able to:
- explain long-term trends of economic and social business environment P> - explain trends in enterprises and their management at the threshold of the third civilization wave
- analyze the phenomena typical of current practice of corporate management.

  • I. Theoretical and methodical resources. Development trends in economic and social environment.
  • 1. Management theory as the management science in technical, biological and social systems.
  • 2. System development - natural and cultural evolution.
  • 3. Characteristics of development and management of social systems.
  • 4. Characteristics and fundamentals of the industrial era.
  • 5. Development trends in the post-industrial era.
  • II. Development trends in companies and management.
  • 6. Changes in work and development of companies.
  • 7. From hierarchy to networks.
  • 8. Highly evaluated company.
  • 9. Stakeholder approach in a company.
  • III. Approaches and methods of current management and their cultural and ethical aspects.

Assessment methods
The course consists of three topic blocks. Each part is made up of four seminars. The first seminar of a block is focused on a brief teacher’s commentary on the given topic and on consultations. The other three seminars of given topical block are intended for presentations of three-member teams. The goal is to have four presentations in one seminar (each presentation taking about 20 minutes, or more precisely 10 minutes for presentation itself and 10 minutes for discussion and assessment). Each team gives three presentations during the course. Participation in the course is obligatory.
Students have to pass an oral examination to successfully conclude the course. Students can only take the exam after giving their presentations in seminars.
