The characterization of the development of biomotor abilities, the contents of individual units of the sporting training, technology and sport process control, effects of sporting training and their diagnostics pertain to tasks of the teaching. The differentiation of uniqueness of the training process for children and the youth, women. Content of subject is practical and theoretical. Students get information about exercises suitable for development of motor abilities. Development of skills during year training cycle.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, students should be able to:

  • to solve (individual and team needs) the development of biomotor abilities
  • to apply general features of the sporting training structure for the specific needs of various sports
  • to analyse the effects of sporting training
  • Key topics
    • Science and development of muscular strength
    • Science and development of muscular power
    • Science and development of endurance
    • Science and development of speed
    • Exercise selection, demonstration and correction in gym environment for strength and power development

Approaches, practices, and methods used in teaching
    Theoretical/practical seminar, lectures, peer-lectures
Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
To successfully complete the course, students may miss a maximum of three seminars. Active participation in seminars is essential. The final grade is based on the evaluation of an oral presentation on strength and conditioning training in a selected sport (50% of the grade is based on peer evaluation, 50% on the teacher's evaluation) at the end of the semester (the schedule for individual presentations will be discussed with students).
