- Abstract
- The main objectives of the teaching of this subject is to inform students about the basic principles and approaches to the development and reaching maximal performances in sport. The characterization of the development of biomotor abilities, the contents of individual units of the sporting training, technology and sport process control, effects of sporting training and their diagnostics pertain to tasks of the teaching. The differentiation of uniqueness of the training process for children and the youth, women. Content of subject is practical and theoretical. Students get information about exercises suitable for development of motor abilities. Development of skills during year training cycle.
- Learning outcomes
- At the end of this course, students should be able to:
- to define the aims and tasks, and purpose of strength training and conditioning
- to understand the process of adaptation for sport performance in relation of single motor abilities
- to solve (individual and team needs) the development of biomotor abilities
- to apply general features of the sporting training structure for the specific needs of various sports
- to analyse the effects of sporting training

- To successfully complete the course, students may miss a maximum of three seminars. Active participation in seminars is essential. The final grade is based on the evaluation of an oral presentation on strength and conditioning training in a selected sport (50% of the grade is based on peer evaluation, 50% on the teacher's evaluation) at the end of the semester (the schedule for individual presentations will be discussed with students).
