Course objectives
To acquaint students with basic examination methods in internal medicine and with internal diseases.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to:
- have a basic overview of diseases of internal medicine;
- to describe the examination methods of individual internal medicine fields;
- be able to provide first aid;
- understand the connection and links between rehabilitation and medical interventions;
- apply physiotherapy as part of the treatment of diseases across the fields of internal medicine;
- design physiotherapy for patients with diseases related to internal medicine;
- propose an individual physiotherapy plan for a specific patient being treated at an internal clinic.
Syllabus
  • 01. Propedeutics of Diagnostic Methods in Internal Medicine.
  • 02. Cardiology – Physiology of the Heart and Circulatory System, Diagnostic Methods, Circulatory Arrest and CPR, Cardiac Arrhythmias, Hypertension, Ischemic Heart Disease, Congenital Heart Defects, Acquired Heart Defects, Endocarditis, Myocarditis, Cardiomyopathies.
  • 03. Angiology – Diagnostic Methods, Arterial and Venous Diseases, Disorders of the Lymphatic System.
  • 04. Pulmonology – Diagnostic Methods, Inflammatory Lung Diseases, Tuberculosis, COPD, Asthma Bronchiale, Pulmonary Thromboembolism, Pulmonary Hypertension, Chest Trauma.
  • 05. Hematology – Diagnostic Methods, Blood Formation Disorders, Anemia, White Blood Cell Disorders, Hematologic Malignancies, Blood Clotting Disorders.
  • 06. Immunologically Mediated Diseases, Allergic Disorders.
