Course objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce to students basic approaches, methods and research techniques of quantitative and qualitative research. In the form of lectures, reading the basic methodological texts and practical exercises, students will not only gain the theoretical knowledge, but also necessary practical skills to interpret critically research results in social sciences. In addition to the research design students will also learn how to present results and how to write an academic text.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to identify the features of research approaches in social science and to identify their strengths and weaknesses. He/she will be able to select an appropriate research design in relation to the research question and the nature of the research problem. He/she will undestand data collection and analysis.
