Course objectives
The objectives of the course is to offer basic orientation in the field of work psychology practice for students and to give them basic practical experience in this area.
This basic experience should be gained in these professional activities:
a. Personnel selection, Assessment of Professional Competence;
b. Psychological assessment in Personnel selection and Development;
c. Personal counselling;
d. Employee training and education;
e. Diagnostics of the organisation, analysis of certain aspects in inner matters of the company (analysis of condition in the company, culture in the organisation etc.);
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students will:
a. have experience from some of the areas: personnel selection, employee training and education, psychological assessment, personnel counselling;
b. be able to apply knowledge from several psychological courses (e. g. social psychology, psychological assessment, organizational psychology) to the practice;
c. have an idea of ​​what is the job of a psychologist working in different organizations (e. g. police, internal human resources department of organizations, consulting organizations).

  • The course has got its own special form, it runs in several parts at the practice provider`s workplace.

Teaching methods
Student passes a practices in selected working compartments.
Assessment methods
The course is compulsory for students of psychology master program at FSS MU. One credit in the course corresponds to 20 working hours (i. e. 2,5 working days). For passing the course it is necessary for students to:
1. Settle the practice at the provider`s workplace – see the contacts
2. Sign the Code of Ethics
3. To provide filled in form „Confirmation of passing the practice", as well as the form „Timesheet“, including both provider's and student's signatures.
4. To complete final discussion with course supervisor.
