Course objectives
Development of academic skills and professional language designed for the students of the Faculty of Social Sciences; reaching the level B2 according to CEFR.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student will be able to: - present a brief academic presentation on a topic in their field of study and lead an academic debate - write the summary of a presentation and a text on specific topics - write the argumentative text about a controversial topic

Teaching methods
Presentations, discussions, work with authentic materials and specialized texts, group work, autonomous on-line learning.
Assessment methods
Active participation throughout the course (70% attendance). Oral presentation on an academic topic. Partial work throughout the semester: argumentative text on topics covered in class; summary of a videodiscourse;, summary of an article.
