Course objectives
The course is based on a discussion of the role played by lifestyle (especially the dynamics and structure of consumption and leisure activities) in the ecological demands of human civilization. The course will focus on everyday behavior, seeking and interpreting environmentally friendly lifestyles and considering their connection to the mainstream lifestyle.
Learning outcomes
After attending the course, a student will be able to:
- identify the main environmental dimensions of sociological research on lifestyles
- prepare own research design

Teaching methods
Teaching methods include:
introductory lectures about the themes related to lifestyle
home preparation, reading of obligatory texts
structured discussion about the texts
seminar paper
critical discussion about papers.
Assessment methods
Discussion of assigned texts, reading, and writing an essay. Participation at seminars is mandatory with a maximum of three absences allowed.
