Course objectives
The specific content and objectives of the course and the resulting requirements for its completion are always based on the individual study plan and its semester content. They are determined according to the principles set by the doctoral board of the relevant program. Unless otherwise stated in this procedure, the course is usually aimed at completing an initial search of relevant sources, continuing to study the current state of knowledge in the field, but above all completing the definition of the dissertation project, ie delimitation of specific problem areas and questions that will be solved in the dissertation. The aim is to define the subject and the objectives of the work. The aim is also to get feedback on the proposal of the definition of the subject and the objectives of the work not only from the supervisor but also from other persons in order to minimize the probability of a major error on this important issue and to develop correspoding skills as much as possible.
Learning outcomes
Specific outputs are always based on the individual study plan and its semester content. They are determined according to the principles set by the doctoral board of the relevant program. Unless otherwise specified by this procedure, the outputs shall, as a rule, include:
- completion of an initial search of relevant resources,
- advanced comprehension of the current state of knowledge in the field of research based on the study of literature
- specification of the dissertation project, definition of specific problem areas and questions that will be solved in the dissertation
- specification of the subject and objectives of the dissertation
- opportunity to get feedback not only from the supervisor but also from other people at the discussion meeting; use of the received suggestions for further steps in the dissertation preparation process
Syllabus
  • The syllabus is elaborated individually in agreement with the supervisor within the framework of the semester content of the individual study plan. It usually includes the completion of the initial research of relevant sources, continuing to study the current state of knowledge in the given area, consultations leading to the completion of the definition of the dissertation - specification of the dissertation assignment, definition of specific problem areas and questions to be solved in the dissertation the objectives (s) of the work. Consequently, possible work structure options are consulted. At the end of the semester, the defined subject and the aim of the dissertation are presented at a wider discussion meeting (whose format and composition will be determined by the supervisor), which enables feedback not only from the supervisor. This is usually a milestone, the fulfillment of which is an obligation laid down in the individual study plan.
Literature
  • Literatura je samostatně vyhledána studentem na základě případných doporučení školitele a dalších osob. Odvíjí se od tématu disertační práce. (Literature is independently searched by the student based on possible recommendations of the supervisor)
