Course objectives
At the end of the lecture course students are expected to be able to: (1) explain the legal system and the structure of the Czech intellectual property law, as well as its sources, including the international and European union system of protection; (2) explain and analyse various absolute and relative rights of the intellectual property and (3) the legal features of the protected objects of intellectual property rights and their legal overlapping; (4) understand the registration principle of industrial property rights (5) understand the legal management of protected objects of the intellectual property, especially to understand the issue of contracting licenses, statutory licenses and compulsory licenses, (6) analyse and assess the strategy of enforcement of the intellectual property and (7) the claims arising from these rights and the legal measures of their implementation.
Learning outcomes

Teaching methods
Lectures including the presentations; the participation in lectures of the students is voluntary; during seminars, the selected issues from the IP protection are practiced and tested via discussing the case-law and practical examples
Assessment methods
Written and oral examination; written test (a test with the possibility to use laws; success rate of 56%). Oral examination for students according to the results of the written test. Students who have met the attendance requirements in the seminars and successfully wrote the midterm tests are admitted to the test.
