- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to practice and consolidate basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for the systematic examination of a patient from a physiotherapy perspective directly on patients. Students will learn effective communication with patients, acquire the fundamentals of clinical reasoning, and be able to independently design an individualized therapeutic plan for a specific patient.
- Learning outcomes
- After successful completion of this course, the student will be able to purposefully examine patients with various diagnoses and, based on the examination findings, propose an appropriate therapeutic plan.
- Syllabus
1. Medical history (Anamnesis)
2. Anthropometry
3. Goniometry
4. Patient examination by inspection and palpation (skin, muscle tone, muscle trophicity, sensation)
5. Assessment of shortened muscles and hypermobility
6. Basic assessment of self-care ability and mental functions
7. Examination of the patient in hip joint and pelvic region
8. Examination of the patient in the knee joint, lower leg, ankle, and foot
9. Examination of the shoulder joint
10. Examination of the elbow joint and hand
11. Static and dynamic stabilization of the spine
12. Assessment of the deep stabilization system and movement stereotypes – application in practice
