Course objectives
The main aim of this subject – practise, is to familiarize with basic methodology of motor abilities and skills development with the inclusion of testing. Succesful graduate student will be able to use his theoretical knowledge of basic laws of the process of education in practise adequately. He will be able to structure exercise units correctly, to prepare himself for the exercise unit and also to evaluate the results of educational process in an objective way. The student will prove his ability to understand and use adequate terminology of physical exercises in practise.
The main aim is to gain knowledge and practical skills in basic combat movements, focusing on biomechanical analysis, identifying movement patterns, and applying this in physiotherapy. Students will learn the basics of selected combat disciplines to understand movement demands and effectively diagnose and treat movement dysfunctions in athletes.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to finish the subject:
- to understand the basic concepts of the studied discipline of the methodology of physical education, to explain the relationships and the connections between the observed attributes of the subject
- practically in teaching to adequately use their knowledge about the laws of the process of education and training in the interaction between the teacher, the pupil, the educational and training project and the conditions of teaching
- properly structure the teaching unit of physical education, prepare it properly and evaluate its results objectively
- to verify in practice the ability to understand and adequately use the nomenclature of physical exercises
-understands the systematics of preparatory combat movements in relation to specific combat disciplines;
-can analyze the biomechanical structure of preparatory combat techniques;
-understands the impact of specific combat movements on the development and load of the musculoskeletal system;
-applies the principles of combat exercises in a therapeutic context (compensation, prevention);
-can identify risky movement patterns and their role in the development of musculoskeletal injuries;
-masters the principles of falling techniques and understands their role in injury prevention;
-is able to perform selected combat techniques and adapt them for diagnostic and physiotherapeutic purposes;
-presents a movement analysis of a selected combat technique and proposes therapeutic interventions.

Teaching methods
Teaching takes place through lectures, practical exercises, and movement analysis. It includes both group and individual work with video recordings from combat disciplines, focusing on identifying incorrect movement patterns. The course also involves studying literature and MU e-learning materials. For self-study, students are assigned tasks focused on movement diagnostics in combat disciplines, identifying risks, and proposing appropriate corrective strategies.
Assessment methods
Oral group exam, which will assess:
- Knowledge of the systematics and biomechanics of combat movements in relation to physiotherapy - Ability to identify and explain movement patterns in athletes within combat disciplines - Ability to design therapeutic interventions based on movement analysis
Language of instruction
