Prerequisites
To understand physiological principles and regularities, the subject physiology builds on the basic knowledge of the morphology of the human organism (secondary school biology - anatomy, histology), physical and chemical laws (biophysics, organic/anorganic chemistry).
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is also offered to the students of the fields other than those the course is directly associated with.

Course objectives
The subject physiology, from the perspective of theory and practice, acquaints students with the functions of a healthy human organism, from the cellular level through individual organ systems to the organism as a whole. A very important part of the course is to familiarize students with regulatory functions that ensure the dynamic stability of the internal environment of the organism. Physiology is a collection of knowledge about the functions of an ideal, average person, with an emphasis on the existence of inter- and intra-individual differences in the population, which can manifest themselves especially in disease.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to: - explain the basic principles of the functioning of the human body - explain the basic principles of regulation in the organism (nervous, humoral) - explain and practically perform a basic examination of a healthy adult

Assessment methods
oral examination The student is admitted to the oral exam after obtaining credit for the subject Physiology - Practicals (MRFY0311c). The exam is registered via IS MUNI. On the day of the exam, the student will come in person at the specified time (it will be sent to him/her no later than the day before the exam by email) and 3 questions will be pulled (random number generator) (the list of questions is available from the middle of the semester at the IS), to which he/she answers without written preparation. The total time of examination is estimated at approximately 20 minutes. If the answer to any question is not sufficient, the exam will be graded "unsatisfactory (F)" and the examination will be terminated. Any absence from the examination term must be excused via the Study Department of the Faculty of Medicine MU within 5 working days of the examination date. If a student fails to attend the examination and does not properly excuse his/her absence, he/she will be assessed as "unsatisfactory (-)" (SZŘ, Article 16, Par. 7).
