Course objectives
At the end of the course students will know the drug dosage forms, application routes, drug information sources and research and development of drugs. They can make pharmacokinetic calculations.
Syllabus
  • Seminar 1. Drug dosage forms and application routes. Drug information sources (SUKL, pharmacopoea, AISLP, Micromedex, EMA). Legislation on drug regulation. Pharmacological calculations.
  • Seminar 2. Basic pharmacokinetic processes and parameters. Therapeutic drug monitoring. Computer techniques in pharmacokinetics. Pharmacokinetic case-reports, demonstration of software MW PHARM.

Teaching methods
In practicals students are provided with a pharmacology teacher presentation on the topic stated in curriculum followed by discussion.
Assessment methods
During the studying the student has to prove active knowledge of pharmacology acquired to get the credit. The student has to pass the final written multiple-choice test - colloquium.
