Sufficient knowledge of theory for neccesary interpretation of diseases and symptoms in oral cavity related to the skin diseases and symptomatology.

Course objectives
The aim is to acquire actual knowledge of mucous membrane symptomatology in dermatoses, its diagnostics treatment. Understanding of principal skin functions and their examinations. Immune system and the skin in relation to allergic reactions. Skin as a target organ for autoimmunity. Problems in venereal diseases. Drug eruptions as a frequent complication of systemic treatment. Skin tumours.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to work individually with patient, to interpret the pathological skin and mucous membrane findings, make differential diagnosis in principal groups of skin and venereal diseases, propose investigation plan and therapy.
Syllabus
  • The first part of lectures is focused on general problems like structure of the skin, basic morphology, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic possibilities in dermatology with the emphasis on topical therapy. In the second – special part – especially bacterial, fungal, viral and parasitic skin diseases, drug eruptions, eczemas, autoimmune diseases sexually transmitted diseases and skin tumors are discussed. The final part is dedicated to the dermatoses of the face and dermatoses with mucous mebranes involvement.
