- Course objectives
- The aim of the course Fundamentals of Diagnostics of Functional Disorders of the Musculoskeletal System III is to provide students with theoretical foundations in the diagnostics of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system and in therapy according to the concept of Professor Lewit. The course focuses on acquiring theoretical knowledge of functional pathology and the differential diagnosis of functional disorders of the axial skeleton. Lectures cover topics such as the diagnostics and therapy of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system in individual sections of the axial skeleton, ribs, vertebrovisceral and viscerovertebral functional relationships, as well as movement patterns and stereotypes.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the theoretical part of the course, the student:
- masters the theoretical foundations of diagnostics and therapy of functional disorders of the axial skeleton according to Lewit
- understands the concept of functional pathology as overload of the musculoskeletal system
- knows the relationships between functional segmental changes and the development of pathological conditions
- is able, based on theoretical knowledge, to select an appropriate therapeutic approach to a musculoskeletal segment
- is able, based on theoretical knowledge, to examine movement patterns and select an appropriate therapeutic approach for their optimization
