Course objectives
The aim of the course Fundamentals of Functional Musculoskeletal Disorder Diagnosis II is to provide students with a theoretical foundation in the diagnosis of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system and therapy according to the concept of Prof. Lewit. The course focuses on acquiring theoretical knowledge of functional pathology and the differential diagnosis of functional disorders of peripheral joints. Lectures cover topics such as an introduction to the issue of joint functional disorders, differential diagnosis of functional disorders of peripheral joints and the pelvis, and an introduction to the function of the axial skeleton.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the theoretical part of the course, the student will be able to:
- demonstrate theoretical knowledge of the diagnosis and therapy of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system according to Lewit
- understand the concept of functional pathology as an overload of the musculoskeletal system without structural changes
- understand the relationships between functional segmental changes and the development of pathological conditions
- choose an appropriate therapeutic approach to a movement segment based on theoretical knowledge
