Abstract
The aim of the course is to develop the professional concept of a French language teacher. Students will focus on analyzing student needs, planning lessons according to clearly formulated objectives and evidence of learning, implementing lessons based on research-based didactic principles, and reflecting on their own practice.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student should be able to:
• perform an analysis of student needs (besoins, motivation) and define measurable goals in relation to the curriculum;
• analyze and select teaching material;
• plan and implement a communicative/action activity (including managing interactions and pace);
• observe and evaluate teaching using observation/analytical tools and provide criterion-based feedback;
• ensure the basic conditions of a safe, inclusive climate (rules, roles, norms).

Approaches, practices, and methods used in teaching
Seminar, discussion, presentations, individual work. Emphasis is placed on linking theory with practice, using active learning methods, and analyzing specific teaching situations. Students in combined (part-time) study are required to attend at least half of the consultations.
Method of verifying learning outcomes and course completion requirements
The output of the course is the elaboration of a textbook analysis and one detailed lesson plan and its reflection after implementation. Students hand in the project at the end of the semester in printed or electronic form. Feedback is provided orally during the final expert discussion of the project.
