Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with general knowledge of didactics of mathematics, which will be possible to follow in the following master study. At the basic level, the student will get acquainted with methods of solving mathematical problems, with preparation for lesson, with different textbooks and orientation in them, with various aids, methods and approaches applicable in mathematics teaching, with individualized teaching.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students will have a basic idea of the available textbooks, the Framework Educational Program, the preparation for the lesson. They will be able to solve selected mathematical problems by different methods. They will learn how to use aids in teaching mathematics, with some alternative approaches. They will have a basic overview of joint learning of gifted and pupils with specific learning disabilities.
Syllabus
  • • Textbooks, comparison of textbooks, work with textbooks • Preparation for lesson • Teaching Methods in Mathematics • Methods of Solving Mathematical Problems (Selected Types of Word Problems and Their Solution, Solving Problems from the Point of View of Pupils to Solution) • Mathematical competitions (various methods of solving problems from mathematical competitions) • Solution of numerical problems from geometry, constructional problems • Framework Educational Program - Mathematics and its Applications • Tools in mathematics, work with tools • Different approaches to teaching mathematics (H-mat, Montessori pedagogic) • Pupils with specific learning disabilities in mathematics, gifted pupils in mathematics, a pupil with dual exceptionality
