Course objectives
The course pursues the objective to reflect about the own pronunciation competence and to practice and improve the own it and to get to know didactic concepts and exercise types for the pronunciation training in German as a foreign language. Furthermore, the course focuses on the development of diagnostic competence and a (critical) review of course books for pronunciation teaching. We will also address the correspondences between pronunciation and spelling in German.
Learning outcomes
At the end ot this course the students are able to reflect their own pronunciation competence and they know how to practice and improve German pronunciation. They also know didactic concepts, course materials and exercise types for the pronunciation training in German as a foreign language and can choose them according to a specific target learner group.

  • -analysing L2 speech and pronunciation -practicing the own pronunciation -basic principles, teaching methods and exercises for an integrated pronunciation training in German as a foreign language -knowing existing course books for pronunciation training in German as a foreign language and creating own learning material

Náhradní absolvování
Students on mobility abroad are advised not to enrol in this course as active participation is a prerequisite for positive completion. Possible recognition of the course (for a course at the host university) should be discussed with the lecturer before the start of the semester.
