- Abstract
- The aim of the course is to provide students with an understanding of the manifestations of communication abilities in children and adults arising from various forms of special educational needs, with consideration given to all levels of language. Furthermore, through the use of teaching aids and practice-based materials, students will be actively engaged in the learning process, thereby deepening their understanding of communication difficulties that may arise as a result of different types of disability or disadvantage and may constitute a barrier throughout the individual’s life course.
- Learning outcomes
- demonstrates an understanding of the manifestations of impaired communication abilities in children and adults with disabilities;
- develops the ability to identify communication difficulties arising from disability or disadvantage;
- builds competence in identifying the communication-related needs of children and adults with special educational needs;
- develops the ability to design materials to support the communication skills of children and adults with special educational needs.
