Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be alble to:
characterize positoin of Natural History curriculum in FEP
by own words explain the difference between form and method of teaching
determine the teaching form
develop selected teaching forms for use in Natural History hour at elementary school
create a record from hospitation at Natural History lesson
elaborate the detail preparation for teaching of selected natural history lesson at secondary school
Learning outcomes
- the student is able to compare different approaches to the classification of teaching forms; - student is able to distinguish organizational and cooperative forms of teaching; - student is able to explain the difference between excursion and field practise; - student is able to evaluate the importance of individual forms for teaching of Natural History; - the student is able to use the experience of the exercises in the design of a particular Natural History lesson;

  • Syllabus of lectures:
  • 1) Position of Natural History in FEP
  • 2) Teaching forms: definition of the term, difference between the teaching method and the teaching form
  • 3) Teaching forms: organizational teaching forms
  • 4) Forms of teaching: cooperative forms of teaching
  • 5) Teaching methods: definition of the term, classification of teaching methods by Lerner
  • 6) Teaching methods: classification of teaching methods by Mojžíšek and Maňák
  • 7) Classification of teaching methods by Maňák according to the didactic aspect: verbal monology methods
  • 8) Classification of teaching methods by Maňák according to the didactic aspect: verbal dialogic methods
  • 9) Classification of teaching methods by Maňák according to the didactic aspect: verbal methods-written work, work with literature (work with textbooks)
  • 10) Classification of teaching methods by Maňák according to the didactic aspect: verbal methods - work with literature (work with atlas and work with determination key)

presentation of selected method (micro-output)
a written test
Fulfilling requirements:
active participation in exercises (1 absence allowed)
the correct execution of materials in the Portfolio of the Beginning Teacher of Natural History
passing a written test (gain of at least 70 % points)
