Course objectives
Students will become familiar with teaching materials and their use or creation when working with pupils with a different mother tongue. Furthermore they will get familiar with various methodological procedures and forms of work with selected literary texts, taking into account possible specifics of working with pupils with a different mother tongue.
Learning outcomes
Students: - will be able to adapt teaching materials for working with pupils with a different mother tongue; - will be able to create their own appropriate teaching materials; - will be able to apply various methods and forms when working with concrete texts; - will be able to allow for possible specific needs of pupils with a different mother tongue.
Syllabus
  • The focus of seminars is the direct interpretive work with specific examples serving as a pivotal part of teacher preparation for literature class and detailed familiarization with available textbooks and supplementary teaching texts. 1. Interpretation of a text and basic questions of its practical application, pupils‘ factual understanding of texts. Common Framework of Reference for Languages - Czech. 2. Adapted reading in Czech 3. Introduction to contemporary reading books and other learning materials for 2nd grade of elementary school. 4. Adaptation of teaching materials for the needs of pupils with different mother tongue.. 5. Possibilities of creating own teaching materials for working with text (worksheets, etc.). 6. Model situations - typology of students with a different mother tongue. A common language and a common view of the world. Two critical factors in teaching literature. 7. A model methodology for working with selected epic text with regard to the selected model situation and to the type of student with a different mother tongue. 8. A model methodology for working with selected lyrical text with regard to the selected model situation and to the type of student with a different mother tongue 9. A model methodology for working with selected dramatic text with regard to the selected model situation and to the type of student with a different mother tongue. 10. A model methodology for working with selected epic text with regard to the selected model situation and to the type of student with a different mother tongue. 11.
