Course objectives
Applied Biology - Introduction to Experimentation The subject is a part of program “Biology for life and health” which is a section of research intention PdF MU “School and Health for 21. Century”. The realization of the subject takes place in an educational center specialized on Sustainable life called “Kejbaly” and in selected envirocentrs. The aim is personal development of a student-teacher, knowledge base of teaching and professional knowledge formation according School Educational Program for Basic Education. The subject contains practical lessons focused on Learning by Doing which are realized as field lessons. It means training of skills, strengthen teacher’s knowledge and creating teacher’s attitudes important to be able to help develop key competences and scientific literacy to scholars according Frame Educational Program for Basic Education.
At the end of this course students should be able to
- understand applied area of science as are permaculture, biology for „ greenly school";
- create: final (group) project "Den Země", Seminar work "Bio kalendář", portfolio assessment;
- make deductions based on acquired knowledge: analyze, apply and evaluate basic findings of sciences about biotic nature and communities, understand environmentals rules about Earth and meanings of these rules for men life and health, nature and communities and for practical usage not only at basic education but also in personal life
Syllabus
  • Environmental friendly management and growing for education according Educational Program for Basic Education. That means that you had to pass courses Integrated Knowledge Base and practicum from Integrated Knowledge Base. The aim is to understand the human-nature interrelationship on examples from particular territory. This course also helps to understand pedagogical terms through students’ integration into teaching.Effect of natural conditions on life and work of people in visited region (SWOT analysis of natural conditions and its effect on visited area).
