Course objectives
Immunopharmacology focuses on the mechanism of action of pharmacologic agents that regulate immune response and on the physiologic, pathologic, and pharmacologic role of the products of immune response. Topics include cytokines and their use in therapy, immunosuppressive drugs, immunostimmulants, monoclonal antibodies, mechanisms and immunotherapy of allergic diseases, clinical transplantation, AIDS therapy, disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs, drugs in the treatment of inflammatory bowel diseases and COPD. Each lecture is followed by a tutorial where clinical report cases to the corresponding topic will be discussed.
