Course objectives
The course responds to students' recurring surprise at how animation can present serious topics. Thus, each lecture during the semester will be focused on a specific social issue, which will be presented with examples from contemporary and historical animation around the world. Through individual themes and examples, the possibilities of presenting these themes using components of animation such as animation technique, movements, different genres or visual characters will be opened up.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: -observe and analyze the presentation of themes in animation -have an overview of contemporary and historical world animation presenting social issues -understand the variety of possibilities of animation -understand that animation is not necessarily divided into children's and adult animation
