Compulsory: successfuly passing written test in IJ1A002. Only students of the program of Italian Language and Literature of URJL MU can enrol for the course. Erasmus+ students cannot enrol for this course. - Course Enrolment Limitations

- Course objectives
- The course is continuation of Practical Italian I-II. The entry-level language competence is CEFR A2. The exit-level language competence is CEFR B1+.
- Learning outcomes
- The students will learn to communicate autonomously in different situations; they will be able to understand and react with oral and written tests using standard Italian.
- Syllabus
- Grammar book "Al dente 3", units 1, 2, 7, 3, 5. Main topics: citizenship, music, emotions, physical/sports activities, Grammar structures: Verb forms: imperfetto, passato prossimo, trapassato prossimo, passato remoto, condizionale presente e passato, congiuntivo presente e passato, imperativo formale; relative pronouns, revision of direct/indirect personal pronouns; some subordinative connecting words. Programme activities, i.e., lectures that are common to the whole programme, are also to be included in the course content. On these occasions, other activities (including regular classes) will be suspended. Activities already on the calendar: - 30.09 (all day, room 343) and 01.10 (morning, dean's meeting room, to be confirmed) Conference "Developing new languages in migration contexts - 13 October 16:00-18:00 and Tuesday 14 October 16:00-18:00 (dean's meeting room), prof. Matteo Di Figlia (University of Palermo), Seminars on ‘Il fascismo italiano: 1919-1943’ (Teaching materials will be provided prior to the seminars) The full calendar of activities will be communicated at the beginning of the semester.

- Teaching methods
- This is an intensive course of Italian language - two lessons per week are offered. The teaching/learning approach is communicative so that active attendance is expected. Activity in ELF is not mandatory; nonetheless, it is highly recommended because it is considered as part of the course. Attendance is mandatory (70% at least). More details will be given during the first week of the course.
- Assessment methods
- Written and oral parts. Students can take the oral part if they have passed the written part. The written part consists of two written sections: 1)skills section (listening, reading, writing); 2) grammar and vocabulary knowledge section. In order to pass the written part, a minimum score must be achieved in both sections.
