Course objectives
The various forms of cultural tourism are among the most important sectors of tourism in Europe, and many regions of Poland have a promising potential for their development. The course gives an overview of the most important sub-forms of cultural tourism and their representation in the voivodeships of Poland. The main aim of the course is to systematically develop the students' ability to independently create, propose or comment an intinerary of a tour or an excursion to Poland.
Learning outcomes
Students of the course will:
- gain an overview of the current condition of cultural tourism in Poland,
- acquire wide interdisciplinary knowledge (from geography, history, philology, history of art, ethnology, religious studies and economics) connected to cultural tourism,
- strengthen their ability to perceive mutual relations between culture and tourism,
- be well-oriented in the main attractions of cultural tourism in Poland,
- obtain an overview of selected marketing products focused on the promotion of Poland's cultural heritage.

Lectures, in-class work with study materials, presentations of the students projects, class discussion.
Assessment methods
Active participation is required. Assessment of students: 75 % written exam, 25 % seminar project (incl. PPT presentation, work in pairs). Evaluation scale: A 100–85 pts., B 84–80 pts., C 79–75 pts., D 74–70 pts., E 69-60 pts., F (fail) 59–0 pts. Credit/no-credit course: active participation (3 absences are allowed), seminar project.
