Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide comprehensive information about the study of the primary sources relevant for the topics of the dissertations.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to work with primary sources relevant and necessary for the topic of the dissertation.
Syllabus
  • Bloc teaching:
  • Editing work (part III.): collation of manuscripts, lectiones variae, emendations, conjectures and other basic editorial terms;
  • commentary, „ratio edendi“, authorities;
  • Sources and literature, edited sources including manuscripts, old prints;
  • CTE (Classical Text editor), working with electronic databases of edited sources.
Literature
  • Literatura: dle zvolených témat doktorských disertací.
  • Literature is assigned based on the topics of the dissertation.
Teaching methods
Lecture, presentation of progress of the doctoral projects, seminar discussion.
Assessment methods
Regular and active class participation; presentation of the dissertation.
