Course objectives
The main objective of the course is to teach students to use basic methods of data collection and analysis used in qualitative research, especially in field research. During the course, students will learn and try out basic data collection techniques (questioning and observation) and basic data analysis techniques (coding, evaluation, data interpretation).
Learning outcomes

After completing this course, students will be able to:

- understand the theories and methods of qualitative research

- use qualitative research terminology

- design qualitative field research

- methodically create and process data within the framework of qualitative research

1. Introductory lesson: basics of scientific methodology, qualitative research, relationship between qualitative and quantitative research

2. Basic approaches to qualitative research

3. Research plan proposal

4. Ethical issues in research

5. Data collection methods

6. Data processing methods

7.-13. Completion of partial tasks related to the implementation of qualitative research

Teaching methods

- the first 6 lessons consist of lectures

- In the second part of the course, students complete an assignment for each lesson according to the instructions (partial steps in conducting qualitative research); students present their assignments in class, followed by a discussion.


Assessment methods
Attendance (1 unexcused absence allowed), participation in class discussions, completion and presentation of all assignments given in the second part of the course.
