Abstract
The seminar is intended as an organized discussion on separate topics of high school physics. Its essential part is students' independent preparation; individual seminar lessons are devoted to students performances on selected topics. The performance involves both university level analysis of the topic, which should prove that a student has mastered the subject, and the elementary treatment of the problem aimed at high school pupils. Each performance is followed by the critical discussion.
The main objective of the course is the development of physical and pedagogical abilities of students. At the end of the course students should be able to analyze selected physical topics and to discuss the simplifications used in their high school treatment.
Key topics
  • 1. Mechanics of particles and their systems.
  • 2. Special theory of relativity.
  • 3. Oscillations and waves.
  • 4. Electricity and magnetism.
