Prerequisites
Background and introduction Prerequisites for students: PC user skills including internet, interest in the topic see below. Background and introduction: Satellite data is now freely available to the public and provides much interesting and useful information. We teachers and naturalists find these materials very interesting and can use them in our teaching. Therefore, we have prepared a course that will briefly present the use of freely available satellite data for science teaching in the most understandable and useful way. We will briefly discuss the essential theory - the basics of remote sensing and the characteristics of satellite images - and focus on the practicalities, i.e. how to search for satellite images and extract interesting information from them. In preparing an interactive course syllabus, we will be introduced to materials that we can use for ourselves or for our students. Target audience: primary and secondary school teachers with a focus on physics and chemistry and other interested students. Additional information.

Course objectives
- acquire basic knowledge of remote sensing and its materials useful in teaching science subjects -gain skills in working with selected web browsers and applications displaying satellite data - learn to find and read basic information about phenomena shown in satellite images -to make simple animations from satellite data - find suitable projects to work on with pupils in science lessons - to use all the materials in the interactive axis (explanatory texts, links to resources, video descriptions, ESA worksheets and method sheets and their own projects) with understanding - share experiences with colleagues in schools
Learning outcomes
Graduate explains the basic concepts related to remote sensing and explains the physics of remote sensing work with at least two web browsers and applications; and locate suitable satellite images describe phenomena in satellite images produce a video showing the evolution of a phenomenon over time find a suitable project for his/her teaching understands the terms in the project works with the materials in the interactive curriculum and actively uses the material
