- Course objectives
- The aim of this course is
- to improve the communication within mathematical community on B2 level, both written and spoken
- to improve presentation skills, mainly in presenting mathematical topics/the results of students' research
- to ractice conference skills: writing a Call for Papers, abstracts, email communication, discussion
- to practice typical language functions and grammatical structures typical for written and spoken mathematical texts - Learning outcomes
- After completing this course the student will be able to:
- understand authentic mathematical texts/lectures
- identify the main ideas
- formulate the main ideas
- interpret the information
- present mathematical topics using basic presentation techniques
- summarize a mathematical text
- compare and contrast
- use arguments in a discussion on a mathematical topic (defend one´s opinion, oppose, support arguments of a colleague)
- present one´s research using advanced presentation techniques - Syllabus
- Syllabus of the course:
