Anotace
The course aims to acquaint students with the development of European integration and the principles of the European Union and to enable them to understand the Union's ways of deciding on joint matters, legal principles, division of powers and practical implementation of individual policies.
Výstupy z učení
At the end of the course students will be able to:
- explain the causes and circumstances of European integration,
- understand the fundamentals of EU law,
- understand the functioning of the European institutions, their powers and decision-making,
- orientate in the revenue and expenditure of the EU budget,
- discuss the practical functioning of EU policies, and
- assess the advantages and disadvantages of EU membership.

The course is taught in the form of lectures.
Způsob ověření výstupů z učení a požadavky na ukončení
The written exam consists of a multiple-choice test. The minimum to pass the exam is 60% of the total points.

There are no attendance requirements for students who are on an Erasmus stay abroad. They can take the exam directly. For more information, contact the guarantor of the course.
Náhradní absolvování
„In the case of a study abroad or internship abroad, the course can be completed by successfully passing the final examination. A condition for admission to the examination is the necessity of contacting the course supervisor by the student before leaving for the stay abroad and agreeing on the specification of the requirements for successful completion of the course, which may include the submission of an individually set semester project.“
