Předpoklady
Some basic knowledge of econometrics or statistics is required. Students should have a basic knowledge of the OLS estimator and hypothesis testing. Any course of econometrics should provide sufficient background.

Cíle předmětu
This course provides an experimental toolbox that allow for identification of causal effects in empirical research in applied microeconomics. We will discuss various types of experiments (discrete choice, information provision, field, survey) in the context of transportation, health care, education, among others. Students learn to apply experimental designs to real-life problems.
Výstupy z učení
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
understand the importance of experiments in causal inference;
understand key concepts of experimental methodology and their application;
design an experiment, determine the method of data collection, and perform statistical evaluation;
formulate and critically assess the necessity and possibilities of different types of experiments.

The general concepts will be presented via lectures and case studies.

Regular and active participation in seminars (30%)
Experimental desing proposal (70%)
Náhradní absolvování
The course can be completed in case of a stay abroad within Erasmus or a similar programme. In the case the evaluation is based solely on the experimental design proposal.
